Hello!
I think that before trying to understand classics and literature, it is best to firstly read as many books as you can. Start with those that you truly feel inclined to read. (You know how sometimes you see or you hear about a book and you just feel an inexplicable need to read it?)
Choose a book from each literature period - it is important to notice how different the style of writing gets by each period, the changes in morality, circumstances, opinions of all kinds (some things used to be unacceptable in the past, now they’re part of everyday life) - this, I believe, is how you gain “experience”. And, by gaining it, further reading on literature will be easier to understand. @antigonick and @warmhealer have some really great book recommendations.
An advice: don’t compare your progress to others. Perhaps, let’s say, others have already read 100 books and you only 50 - that number doesn’t matter. Maybe they have read all these books and did not understand much. You, on the other hand, may have made a lot more progress on these 50 books, because you took your time to understand it, to “bond” with it.
I am sorry I could not be more helpful, but I am on the same path - I am trying to read as much as I can.
I hope you are having a wonderful day, too!
it’s a mini backpack from pull&bear! here’s a link where you can see it. since it is not a very big backpack, there are days when i have to switch to another, more roomy bag.
i wasn’t feeling very well today, but your message has definitely put a smile on my face. thank you, anon. <3
